This year i’ve been trying to get myself into doing more things relating to my career direction by taking on internships for companies , collaborating with other creatives and also volunteering. It’s  important for me to build my portfolio and have experience of what it’s like to be in the industry i’m going to.

Recently  I worked as a Assistant producer for Croznest for this editorial i’m sharing with you today. My job role was to make the mood boards, generate ideas and also write the concept. The boards included styling , hair and make up and location ideas for the shoot and the whole team worked together to make it come alive. Here are the final images that were published on Hope Street Magazine , click on the link below if you want to see more.

To all creative people out there: Don’t stop creating!

4. Kiwi – Kiwi is packed with Vitamin C. It keeps your skin looking younger and fresher.

5. Strawberries – It  has loads of antioxidants which lend your skin a healthy radiance from within.

6. Spinach – Loaded with antioxidants,  It helps strengthen skin tissue  flush out toxins, giving clear, glowing skin.( My absolutely favourite)

7. Sweet potato –  It has vitamin C  which improves skin tone and heals pimples.

8. Carrot – Only will it give your skin a glow, it will also fight wrinkles and improve your skin, making it healthy. (eat daily)

Well this week, it was one of my friend’s birthday and we celebrated by going to the beach in Bournemouth. If you are ever in South Coast of England this summer, I suggest you visit Bournemouth  beach you won’t regret it. For now I will leave you with some of the images I captured on the day of my friends and the surroundings. Till next time lovelies.

Solange can sing, write,  she’s a model, an actress, a mother and man can she dress. She’s the queen of colour-blocking. I don’t know anybody who better matches colours that wherever meant to be like her. From orange turtleneck under cobalt blue coat with pink pumps. Grape and lime green. She takes the idea of “mix and match” to a whole new level. Her eye-catching colours, big hair and bold prints are all blended together to create an effortless combination of a cool girl and a traveler.

I’m no Solange but i share and respect her love for making a personal statement whenever she’s out in public. When it comes to fashion, she is a work of art.

Here are my 5 tips to emulate her style

  1. Don’t be afraid of colour: Brights with neutrals. Try to pair colours that you haven’t before — Purple with yellow or hot pick with orange.
  2. Wear tons of patterns and mix them.
  3. Pants are optional. Shorts , skirts and dresses are not.
  4. Vary heels and flats. Have fun with chunky wedges, strappy sandals and pointed kitten heels.
  5. When in doubt , try menswear. You know what that means blazers and trousers.

As you all know I have been working on JUICEBOX Magazine AW16 Edition as an art director assistant and stylist. I can  finally say after 6 weeks of hard work the magazine is finally done. I worked  along  side with my good friend Cristina as stylists for the magazine. Our issue was for Autumn/Winter , so it was a challenge to get suitable clothing as we are transitioning into summer. But luckily we managed to get some of the clothing through PR companies and hours and hours of looking in different shops did the job. For all the shoots we kept two things in mind , layering and keeping the colour palette simple. It was a pleasure to work with Cristina and hopefully we collaborate again in the future. Check out her blog here. Also huge thank you to my team for working hard to creating  such great imagery and content.

The magazine will be available online next week and i will share it with you guys to see the  full edition but for now here are a few images that Cristina and myself styled.

Hey lovelies

From an early age we were told that skipping breakfast is not good for our healthy because it is the most important meal of the day , well our parents were right. I remember when I was young  used to say I don’t eat breakfast but at this age it’s now my favourite meal of the day. Some people might not be hungry in the mornings, forcing yourself to eat or drink is one of the most beneficial things you can do for you body in the mornings.

Wake up earlier in the mornings to make yourself a well balanced breakfast to make sure you leave the house fed well and ready to start off your day right. You will have more energy throughout the morning since your body will have fuel. Your concentrating level and focus be better. You will be less irritable, we all know how we get when we are hungry. So do your body a favour and fuel it every morning.

If you don’t know what to have for breakfast here are  15 ideas to help you start off your day right.

Ngadi, Zarina and I collaborated with the editor of Fat Lip magazine, Elli Weir to help style her gold editorial shoot for the magazine. Everything on this shoot was based on the colour gold from the make up to the clothes. The shoot happened in March , so it was really hard to get gold clothing but luckily we managed to get everything from H&M. We wanted to keep the styling really simple because gold is a strong colour we didn’t want it to be too over powering. We also kept the colour palettes simple on each shot because simplicity always win. As for the make up, we decide to go for gold lips and a bronzed look to balance everything out. This shoot was really fun to style because it was all positive vibes on set and we all worked together as a team to create such great imagery. I hope you guys like them as much as I do.

Uniqlo is Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer. For this project I teamed up with Ngadi Vandy and Zarina Yu. Our aim for this film was to promote diversity and also show the fun youthful side about Uniqlo. The filming and the shoot took part in Camden, unfortunately this was a cold and a rainy day thanks to our models for pulling through. For the styling we went with double denim and  layering.

A massive thankyou to our talented Director of Photographer Dion Schuddeboom who filmed and edited the video. Take a look at his website for more of his work. Below is our Uniqlo Denim fashion film, Enjoy!

  1. Being irresponsible with money.
  2. Worrying about what other people think. I wasted a lot of time and energy caring about what others think , but later on I realised it rarely matters and I simply don’t have time for this.
  3. Not getting out of bad relationships. This drained my energy and had a negative impact on my self esteem. All I can say is invest your emotional energy in people who treat you well.
  4. Perming my hair. Perming is using chemicals to straighten your natural hair .At this stage I am transitioning back to my natural afro and it’s probably the best decision I made this year so far.
  5. Proscanating. This led me to leaving my work till the last minute and not producing work to my best ability.I have to say this term there’s no time for that I learnt my lesson.
  6. Not taking care of my body. Since I was young I never really cared about eating healthy or anything because I had a fast metabolism. But it finally caught up to me and  it was hard to drop my eating habits and treat my body right.
  7. Moving to London .London is a  where I currently live right now and i’m grateful for the friendships that i’ve made.
  8. Too trusting. Sometimes i’m glad we go through the highs and lows in our lifes because in the end we learn something from it. Trust no bitch is my advice to everyone.
  9. Letting friends slip away. Sometimes we forget to invest the time to be a friend to keep a friend. Something I probably should have done. It’s not always about what you want to talk about; call a friend and make sure he or she doesn’t need an ear.
  10. Putting pressure on myself . We got all different kinds of pressure on us kids from society , parents , teachers. The “shoulds” have been holding me back and I advice everyone to free themselves from these society expectations and enjoy your life – the way it is right now.

Our shoot with Isabell Giardini and Jade Hobday proves that streetwear looks better on Women. As you all know I am currently working with my lovely team to create the Girls AW 16/17  Edition of Juicebox Magazine. The concept for this shoot was about the impact that females have on streetwear.

The main influences for street wear being male dominated, mean the women who wear into those things just wore the same stuff as the guys.Through the likes of celebrities, influencers, artists and other talents, women’s presence in streetwear was becoming more prominent, and brands started to adjust to the ever increasing presence.Women and femininity play a massive role in the streetwear game and this shoot speaks for itself. Stay tuned for the final images , but at the moment you can take a look at the few behind the scenes images I managed to capture with my phone.

Black Girl Magic definition : It is a term used to illustrate the universal awesomeness of black women. It’s about celebrating anything we deem particularly dope, inspiring, or mind-blowing about ourselves.

Chloe x Halle

I found out about Chloe x Halle in 2013 when Beyonce shared their cover of “Pretty hurts” on Facebook  a track from her self-titled album. Ever since I have been following the girls on all Social media because of their incredible voices (Queen B approves) and their unique style.

Chloe x Halle had been posting covers of hit songs for seven years before being discovered by Beyonce. Since then they have performed at the White House and featured in Elle as “Beyonce’s New Musical Proteges”.

One fact about me, I like discovering new music, artists etc and recently i’ve been listening to Chloe x Halle’s first EP album on iTunes entitled Sugar Symphony. They wrote and produced nearly the whole EP on their own. If you haven’t heard of them before I suggest you give them a chance and it’s safe to say you will be obsessed with their voices. They ran a Poll on twitter asking us the fans  to chose our favourite song on the EP , seriously I couldn’t chose because each song brings something different to the table. One thing I can say about this EP is that it’s amazing and thanks to Chloe x Halle for blessing my ears.
